Jon has extensive litigation and regulatory experience and advises some of the nation’s largest and most technologically advanced companies on complex Information Law issues. He has litigated matters in federal and state courts and represents clients in government enforcement actions and other matters before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Jon counsels clients on high-stakes eDiscovery matters, including Second Request antitrust reviews conducted by the FTC and the Antitrust Division of the DOJ. His work has spanned a variety of subject-matter areas related to issues of antitrust, energy, healthcare, sports, and environmental law.
Jon has significant pro bono experience and was part of a team that received the 2019 “Immigrant Justice” award from the ACLU of Southern California. He also has represented clients in housing disputes, immigration proceedings, and criminal habeas appeals.
Prior to joining the Firm, Jon was a managing associate at Sidley Austin LLP. His previous work also includes serving as a law clerk to Chief Judge Martin Reidinger of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and working as a pro bono fellow at Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. During law school, Jon served on the North Carolina Law Review and represented clients in the school’s Consumer Financial Transactions Clinic.
