Michael has a background in technology, law, and consulting, as well as extensive experience providing advice and developing technical solutions and processes to address complex legal issues related to electronically stored information (ESI).  He counsels clients regarding data protection, information privacy, information governance, eDiscovery, and emerging artificial intelligence issues.

Michael focuses on extracting, analyzing, and visualizing structured and unstructured data, and advises clients on tools and processes to help litigation and project teams understand data and develop effective case and project strategies.  He also speaks and writes on recent advancements in artificial intelligence and related impacts to the fields of privacy, information governance, security, and eDiscovery.  Michael is a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).

Before rejoining Redgrave LLP in 2024, Michael was the Head Solutions Architect at Redgrave Data.  He also served as a Legal Technology Solutions Architect at Hogan Lovells and managed an information security risk department team and Wells Fargo.

Michael’s work experience includes:

  • Developing policies, standards, and technical controls regarding discovery, information governance, security, privacy, and artificial intelligence for life science, food, manufacturing, financial, and automotive companies
  • Assisting financial services organizations with analysis and response to data breach incidents
  • Advising a global automotive company regarding the usage of analytical and automated decision-making tools to assist with response to requests from opposing counsel
  • Assisting with the preparation of an expert report for a life science company regarding legal hold implementation and preservation efforts
  • Developing database and associated analytical tools to assist with litigation and mediation negotiations for life sciences, healthcare, and food companies
  • Drafting response letters to discovery requests from opposing counsel and assisting with related eDiscovery motion practice for a health insurance company
  • Advising clients regarding preservation requirements for mobile technologies and social media
