Rana has extensive litigation experience in technology and the Information Law field with a focus on trial, appellate, and alternative dispute resolution matters, including advising clients on discovery and pre-litigation strategies. Her work has concentrated on issues concerning contracts, fraud, product liability, professional liability, and insurance-related claims.
Rana works with clients to develop strategies for all stages of discovery in litigation, from legal hold, preservation, collection, review, and production of data through trial. She interviews custodians, identifies key data sources, develops and negotiates electronically stored information (ESI) protocols, negotiates search terms, conducts meet-and-confer sessions with opposing counsel, and handles discovery motions practice. Rana focuses on delivering tailored, innovative solutions that align with clients’ legal and business goals, provide long-term solutions, and maximize returns.
Before joining Redgrave, Rana was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of its eDiscovery Committee and represented Fortune 100 and 500 clients across various industries in a wide range of litigation matters and handled pre-suit investigations, mediation, and trial strategy.
During law school, Rana participated in the Cornell Law School and Université Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) program, which included one semester of study in Paris at the Sorbonne Law School. She also served as an Associate and Note Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal from 2006 to 2008 and achieved academic distinction by consistently earning a place on the Dean’s List over the course of her studies. Rana was further recognized with the prestigious CALI Award for achieving the highest grade in Public International Law in the Fall of 2007. Rana is fluent in conversational Arabic.
