With over 20 years of legal and technical experience, Tim works collaboratively with clients to control discovery-related costs, maximize process efficiencies, comply with continually evolving data regulations, and implement and adapt new technologies.

Tim has extensive experience in all phases of the discovery process and works with clients to identify opportunities to leverage technology to ease discovery and information governance risk, cost, and burden.  Tim also evaluates technologies to enhance legal hold and data collection processes and guides counsel and client teams in refining discovery response methods.

Tim’s breadth of technical knowledge enables him to address communication gaps between legal, compliance, information technology, and records management, and lead clients through the technology and business aspects of discovery engagements.  Tim also oversees technology onboarding and transitions, including addressing data migrations and governance issues associated with maintaining and supporting existing data preservation and reporting requirements.  Additionally, he assesses risks related to cloud migration and BYOD program implementation and ensures compliance in system onboarding and retirement.

Tim supports a broad range of Information Law matters and works with Am Law 100 firms and Fortune 250 and 100 companies across diverse industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, telecom, and technology.

Before joining Redgrave, Tim worked as a Manager at HuronLegal, advising clients on technology and business process issues related to discovery.  Tim’s prior work includes ten combined years at Redgrave, Daley, Ragan, and Wagner LLP and Faegre Baker Daniels (Faegre and Benson), assisting clients in building and enhancing discovery processes and providing consulting services on discovery-related technology issues.

Tim’s work experience includes:

  • Serving as a lead team member representing clients in multi-billion-dollar multi-district antitrust litigation and supporting discovery efforts for extensive amounts of structured and unstructured data
  • Working with a global automotive manufacturing company to provide ongoing guidance on eDiscovery, information governance, and privacy issues, including rightsizing data preservation efforts related to significant litigation and regulatory compliance issues
  • Developing migration defensibility analyses concerning ongoing preservation challenges and navigating legal hold workflows and preservation settings to determine the needed preservation behaviors for technology platforms
  • Investigating, testing, and understanding Google Workspace’s capabilities and behaviors to best serve clients transitioning to and navigating the technology
  • Supporting enterprise transition from Microsoft to Google Workspace
  • Leading teams tasked with identifying and investigating client systems and applications to properly scope data preservation and collection needs in a major product liability multi-district litigation
  • Leading the legal hold and data retention defensibility and workflow analysis for a major migration of enterprise email infrastructure to Microsoft M365
