INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Britt is an experienced attorney with a deep background in complex commercial litigation and related discovery issues, having focused particularly on insurance matters involving widespread fraud schemes. She has handled cases in federal and state courts nationwide and strategically counsels clients to achieve efficient, effective, and defensible outcomes.    

A skilled litigator, Britt has extensive experience managing discovery in litigation, including producing and reviewing electronically stored information (ESI) and handling discovery disputes with both parties and non-parties.  

Britt also conducts internal investigations relating to fraud schemes and develops practical approaches to address the unique issues involved in each matter.  Her depth of experience and skill with respect to matter assessment often results in her participation in the dispute resolution process for matters.

With an eye toward the intersection of the law and technology, Britt leverages emerging tools and technology solutions to help reduce and manage litigation costs.  She also prioritizes using data analytics to identify and evaluate fact patterns to inform case and discovery strategies.  Britt tailors her investigation and litigation approaches to her clients' legal and business needs, often implementing creative solutions to complex scenarios.

Britt’s recent work experience includes:

  • Drafting agreements, protective orders, pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, subpoena riders, and discovery requests and responses in matters involving fraud, unjust enrichment, IFPA violations, conspiracy, civil RICO, RICO conspiracy, and violations of anti-kickback and anti-referral laws 
  • Conducting an internal investigation in connection with an Office of Inspector General inquiry relating to potential violations of rules and regulations involving Medicare
  • Conducting investigations and counseling a client regarding widespread fraud schemes involving kickback arrangements in violation of anti-kickback and anti-referral laws, billing fraud, and the provision of medically unnecessary services
  • Drafting briefing and presenting oral argument for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit
  • Handling pro bono matters focused on assisting applicants in obtaining asylum in the United States.

Before joining Redgrave LLP, Britt worked as an attorney at Katten Muchin Rosenman. She was also an extern for Judge Ronald J. Bartkowicz in the Law Division at the Circuit Court of Cook County.

EDUCATION:

Britt received her J.D. from Loyola University School of Law, magna cum laude, and her B.A. from Northwestern University. During law school, Britt was the Executive Editor of Research & Marketing of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal, a Moot Court program member, and a legal academic tutor.  She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
