INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Kevin has extensive experience representing and advising clients on various litigation matters. He is skilled at understanding the complexities and challenges surrounding high-stakes cases and assisting clients with developing and implementing practical strategies that consider each organization’s unique legal and business needs.

With a background in complex litigation, data privacy and cybersecurity issues, securities investigations and litigation, corporate disputes, insurance coverage litigation, and toxic torts, Kevin crafts efficient and effective approaches to navigate class action and business litigation matters. He has worked with several clients in the technology industry, advising on issues surrounding cybersecurity, data privacy, cyberinsurance, and compliance with new laws and regulations, and he has counseled clients on data incident response, litigation defense and regulatory inquiry, and enforcement actions. Kevin has also advised clients in the cloud computing, gaming and esports, and financial technology (fintech) sectors.

At Redgrave LLP, Kevin develops appropriate and effective discovery strategies in complex litigation matters, handling all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection and review, drafting discovery requests and responses, preparing witnesses for depositions, and taking and defending depositions. Beyond discovery, he uses his data privacy and protection experience to address issues concerning the evolving regulatory and technology landscape and to assist clients with proper data management planning and practices. Kevin also leverages his knowledge surrounding the evolving technology landscape to help clients understand the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the legal practice and clients’ businesses.

Kevin is passionate about pro bono work and has served as a Voting Rights Fellow at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, assisting in election protection and voting rights litigation. He has also represented and worked with organizations such as the Blue Ribbon Panel on Transparency, Accountability, and Fairness in Law Enforcement and the Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice to advise law enforcement agencies nationwide on their use of force policies. He is active in several legal and community organizations, including serving as Police Commissioner for the San Francisco Police Commission, Board Member for the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), Member of the San Francisco Superior Court Committee on Elimination of Bias, and Director at Large of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area (AABA). Kevin has received recognition and awards for his legal advocacy, including the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area 2021 Joe Morozumi Award for Exceptional Legal Advocacy and the 2024 Board Member of the Year Award, the Bar Association of San Francisco 2021 Award of Merit and 2020 Outstanding Diversity Advocate Award, and the Minority Bar Coalition of the San Francisco Bay Area 2023 Unity Award. He has presented and spoken at numerous conferences, including the Georgetown Advanced eDiscovery Institute.

Before joining Redgrave LLP, Kevin was an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Following law school, Kevin served as a law clerk to The Honorable Paul J. Watford, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

EDUCATION:

Kevin received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, San Diego. During law school, Kevin served on the Managing Board of the Virginia Journal of International Law and was the President and Chair of the Moot Court Team. He is admitted to practice in California.
