Redgrave LLP Adds Prominent eDiscovery Team Led by Partners Robert D. Keeling and Ray Mangum
Firm bolsters eDiscovery bench with 10-person team from Sidley Austin LLP
Washington, D.C. (October 16, 2024) - Redgrave LLP announced today that a 10-person team has joined the Firm, including three who are joining as partners: Robert D. Keeling, Ray Mangum, and Kristen A. Knapp. The arrival of the team, formerly with Sidley Austin LLP, represents a significant extension of the Firm’s already industry-leading bench of Information Law professionals. Keeling will be a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee, and Mangum will be a member of the Firm’s Management Committee.

Keeling was the founder and leader of the eDiscovery and Data Analytics practice at Sidley Austin, while Mangum played a pivotal role in shaping the nationally recognized practice, and Knapp was integral to its success. The team’s work includes leading compliance for Second Requests on transactions totaling billions in value, serving as discovery counsel in high-profile antitrust and environmental litigation, and advising clients in various industries on discovery and technology, including generative artificial intelligence (“GenAI”).

Keeling is a nationally recognized leader in eDiscovery, helping clients manage and navigate discovery in high-stakes, complex matters. He serves as coordinating discovery counsel on major litigations, government investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, and internal investigations. Keeling guides clients through all stages of the discovery process and has handled some of the largest, most sophisticated, and most data-intensive matters in the country. Keeling has deep expertise in helping clients meet the rigorous and intensive processes involved in discovery compliance associated with the regulatory review of mergers and acquisitions.
A renowned speaker and leading author, Keeling is recognized by Chambers USA and Chambers Global as a Band 1 leading lawyer in eDiscovery & Information Governance. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and has a B.S. (summa cum laude) from James Madison University.
Mangum serves as discovery counsel in large-scale litigation, government investigations, and regulatory reviews, with a special focus on eDiscovery compliance with Second Requests from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division. With a background as a professional software developer and Six Sigma practitioner at a Fortune 500 company, Mangum brings a data-driven, technology-focused approach to his eDiscovery practice. He advises leading companies on cutting-edge eDiscovery issues, particularly those involving emerging technologies like ephemeral messaging, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, including GenAI. Mangum also helps clients defensibly dispose of legacy data, achieve proportionality in legal holds, and implement best practices in eDiscovery and information governance.
Mangum is recognized as an “Up and Coming” lawyer in the area of eDiscovery & Information Governance in Chambers USA and in Chambers Global. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School (cum laude) and earned his B.S. from Louisiana Tech University (summa cum laude).
Knapp has experience leading discovery in all phases of civil and criminal litigation, including enforcement actions and internal investigations. She has substantial experience in complex antitrust matters, leading discovery efforts in major litigations, and has played a key role in discovery compliance for numerous Second Requests.
She received her J.D. from Northwestern School of Law (cum laude) and earned her B.A. from Wesleyan University.

Jon Dugan joins as Of Counsel, focusing his practice on the management of eDiscovery matters, including leading preservation and collection efforts and directing review, production, and privilege determinations. Dugan received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law (with honors) and his B.A. from James Madison University.
Eli Nelson joins as a Senior Counsel, focusing his practice on eDiscovery and litigation strategy leveraging his deep understanding of technology-assisted review (TAR), structured data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Nelson received his M.S. in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University and his J.D. and B.A. from Tulane University Law School.
Amy Hanke joins as a Counsel. Hanke received her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and her B.A. from Butler University.
Kimberleigh A. Stuart joins as a Review & Analytics Counsel. Stuart received her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Virginia.
Nicholas J. Knapek joins as Review & Analytics Director and Client Success Manager. He received his J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School and his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Carole A. Harris joins as a Review & Analytics Associate. Harris received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, her M.A. from the University of Denver, and her B.A. from the University of Virginia.
Heather Irwin joins as a Review & Analytics Associate. Irwin received her J.D. from Mercer University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of South Florida (cum laude).
